Marcato Enrico was born in Padua in 1976. He currently lives and works between Padova and Venice.
He sets up his artistic training at the Modigliani Art School of Padova, and then refines it at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Venice, where he is attending painting graduation courses. There he meets the persons that give him sound technical background and visual experience inspiration.
From a professional and artistic point of view, 2011 is the year of change: he began his collaboration with a fine art furniture store in Padova through which he displays and sells many wooden chairs and gypsum products characterized by hand made decoration.
In 2012, after some tests of a few years back, he takes his own old idea of giving an artistic recovery to Venetian lagoon Briccole (Venetian names of dolphins): the initiative becomes an artistic performance with the installation in Borgo Altinate - the Padua historic city center - of its 8 Briccole, venitian original dolphins artistically revisited by colors.
The work showcased for six months in this open air downtown exhibition, enjoying an unexpected success for both the idea, the uniqueness of the objects as well as for the imaginative articulation of color decorations.
Atypical as a character in Venetian art scene, Enrico Marcato likes to call himself an artist both of color and of the matter: this ideal match is the foundation of each work of the inventive decorator.
EM is the trademark for the line of original products made by the artist Enrico Marcato. In all his works, color and art meet the love for the Venice area and territory. His creations are born from the original recovery of simple but typical objects. With colors and unexpected locations these objects find new life. Fun decoration and clear de-contextualization transform ancient devices into modern artistic visual objects, all while preserving historical memory.
Many of his works are owned by collectors from Italy, Miami, Paris, Zurich, Berlin.
